Summary
The Accounting & Finance team at Chainalysis splits their time between fine-tuning the details and evaluating the 30,000 foot view of our business. Our job is to help the company plan for growth by investing in the right resources and audit our expenditures and revenues to ensure we’re being fiscally responsible.
As an Accountant, you will help drive the month-end and quarter-end accounting close. You’ll work collaboratively within the finance organization to ensure deadlines are met and all tasks completed are accurately. The ideal candidate is able to think independently, is comfortable with multi-tasking, and brings a proactive mindset to their work.
In this role, you will…
- Confidently drive the month-end-close process from journal entries to month-over-month flux variance analysis
- Take ownership of bank and credit card reconciliation processes
- Independently add and review amortization schedules for new prepaid additions and remove fully amortized items from the schedule
- Review additions to fixed assets and ensure they are coded according to company policy, as well as run depreciation
- Accurately and thoroughly review and reconcile all ledger accounts on the balance sheet
- Work with the team on audits, compliance filings, and new system implementations.
- Support the Accounts Payable process and reviewing vendor bills in NetSuite
- Support the team’s goal of reducing month-end reporting schedule
We’re looking for candidates who have…
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
- A solid understanding of US GAAP, SOX, bank reconciliations, and general ledger
- A strong command of Excel (you’re unfazed by large data sets)
- A deep understanding of the month-end close process
- Excellent prioritization and project management skills
- Strong ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas, as well as work as part of a collective team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working with senior level management
Nice to have experience:
- Experience in a SaaS environment with a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or experience at a pre-IPO SaaS company
