The Role:

We’re looking for an Accounting Associate with blockchain experience to join our team at Allora Labs. You’ll partner with Finance to take over accounting processes and build strong controls and best practices. A solid foundation in both traditional and crypto accounting is key. What you”ll do:

1. Assist with accounting operations, including payroll journal entries, invoice processing, and reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and cryptocurrency transactions in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
2. Support accounts payable by preparing semi-monthly payments, collaborating with vendors and internal teams, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining robust controls.
3. Streamline the month-end financial close process, reallocating expenses (e.g., G&A to COGS) and preparing reconciliation working papers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
4. Perform detailed reconciliations and assist in preparing financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements, while conducting flux analysis to share insights.
5. Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures to promote clarity, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
6. Provide technical accounting support for cryptocurrency transactions, including manual journal entries and gains/losses accounting, while contributing to ad hoc projects and process improvements.

Experience & Skills:

1. In-depth understanding of GAAP principles and financial regulations.
2. Proficiency with ERPs (e.g. QBO and Xero) and Digital Asset subledger tools (e.g. Bitwave, Cryptio, and CoinTracker).
3. Strong experience with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
4. Familiarity with cryptocurrency and crypto accounting practices is highly desirable.

Nice to have:

1. CPA designation or in the process of obtaining CPA certification is a bonus.
