About the team + role
The Retool Support Engineering team’s mission is to ensure the reliability, scalability and availability of critical third party software that Robinhood depends on.
As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining main platform build on Retool for managing customer data for various Robinhood products in real time. This includes partnering with cross functional teams (Crypto, Fincrimes, Fraud and other organizational stakeholders) to assist with build and integrations. You will work to ensure that the platform is up to date and the architecture is aligned to strategic business initiatives, company goals, and the mission to democratize finance for all. This role is a great opportunity to join the team on the ground floor and help building, maintaining and supporting main platform for back office operation tooling in Robinhood.

What you’ll do
- Debug issues related to a new API connection from an App in Retool
- Debug issues with versioning, committing changes to Git etc.
- Admin User/User group access management
- Secrets and settings management
- Coordinate new feature requests for Retool
- Install, maintain and upgrade retool infra
- Managing deployment pipeline
- Building knowledge articles, starter guide for Retool application
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience in the IT as Application developer / support engineer
- Proven experience with maintaining and supporting cloud applications and platforms such as Google / AWS / Azure or Salesforce
- Ability to automate through scripting or coding to fill in reliability or scalability gaps
- Ability to find out-of-box solutions to best fit Robinhood’s needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both engineering and non-engineering audiences with customer focus and problem solving mentality.
- Self-starter with the ability to overcome all obstacles and challenges with little to no supervision.
- Experience working with teams across different offices and timezones.
