Summary
Zero Hash is seeking a Contract Counsel to review, draft, and negotiate contracts for the leading cryptocurrency settlement infrastructure. We are seeking a smart, driven individual with experience tackling problems across a variety of legal disciplines, including contract law, IP, financial services regulation, commercial, and employment law. We are a high performing team looking for an equally ambitious teammate.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, manage and negotiate various contracts including, commercial contracts, user and services agreements, terms of service, licensing and vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, and employment and independent contractor agreements.
- Collaborating with business development, sales, and product teams to structure commercial and licensing agreements.
- Collaborating with in-house and outside counsel to research complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Building relationships with outside counsel, partners, and regulators in furtherance of driving business goals.
- Assist on other ad-hoc projects at the request as needed.
Role Requirements
- J.D. degree, with 2+ years of relevant legal experience at top law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department, preferably with experience at a fast-growing startup or financial services provider
- Experience drafting various contracts and managing negotiations in collaboration with internal firm stakeholders
- Admitted and in good standing with a state bar or the District of Columbia, preferably Illinois or eligible to register as in-house counsel in Illinois
- Strong interest in new and emerging technologies, particularly blockchain and cryptocurrencies
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work across functions and consult with technology development teams
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
Preferred Experience
- Experience with managing contract negotiations in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in financial services products, particularly with blockchain, cryptocurrency, or web3 based offerings.
- Experience with financial laws, regulations, or industry standards, with particular emphasis on money transmission licensing, ACH regulations, remittances, and payment cards.
- Experience with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, GLBA, and CPRA
