About the team + role

The Crypto Operations team is passionate about delivering an excellent end-customer experience and mitigating firm risk while supporting innovative crypto products. As the Custody Operations Lead reporting to the head of crypto operations, you will own Robinhood’s crypto custody management program, coordinate daily operational processes critical to maintaining the product and business, and serve as a technical product expert. You’ll be expected to provide subject-matter expertise on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, improve operational processes and procedures pertaining specifically to cryptocurrency movement and management, and be an expert on all things Robinhood Crypto custody.

What you’ll do

  1. Be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all custody operations, including user administration and access management, change management, physical asset inventory, and updates to transaction authorization policies and other processes and controls governing outflows of coins
  2. Work closely with our engineering, security, ops, and product teams to improve internal- and external-facing products and processes
  3. Monitor and optimize cryptocurrency movements and related wallet operations, and coordinate between teams and stakeholders to resolve any issues in an efficient and expedient manner
  4. Partner with other crypto operations teams to facilitate and support transfer operations, settlement, and our risk program
  5. Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for additional security or controls in operational processes, and design and implement solutions
  6. Document, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures and other custody-related documentation
  7. Support presentations on Robinhood’s custody setup for auditors and regulators, and support other regulatory and legal matters as necessary

What you bring

  1. 4+ years of experience working in operations, security, program/project management, or similar role at a cryptocurrency company
  2. Deep familiarity with cryptocurrency products, blockchain technology, and on-chain cryptocurrency transactions; bonus points for knowledge of cryptocurrencies Robinhood Crypto supports!
  3. Demonstrated familiarity and experience with institutional crypto custody systems and operations
  4. Uncompromising integrity, security-oriented approach, and strong dedication to professionalism
  5. Self-starter with ability to work independently, coordinate across multiple functional groups and stakeholders in a fast paced environment
  6. Experience working with senior leadership, external auditors, and regulators
  7. Foundational understanding of cryptographic principles involved in cryptocurrency custody systems such as MPC

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
