Setting standards for the cryptocurrency infrastructure globally. The Data Engineering team extends upon this to provide critical data services to the organisation. 

Through innovative data management and analytics, we enable our teams to make informed, data-driven decisions to drive growth, reduce risk and improve operational efficiencies. 

Copper is hiring for an ambitious individual to join the growing Business Intelligence team.  We are looking for a candidate who adopts best practice principles to deliver the insights required to make data driven decisions. You will contribute to and enhance the data warehouse and Business Intelligence visualisation capabilities and help refine our data strategy. 

You will have wide-ranging responsibilities to help us execute on our data strategy, building platform capabilities as well as end user reports. 

Key Responsibilities of the role

  1. Design and build risk, finance and general Business Intelligence reporting models, reports and dashboards.
  2. Provide support for ad-hoc reporting requests.
  3. Engage with key stakeholders to explain our capabilities, understand their requirements, and manage key relationships through effective communication.
  4. Work in collaboration with the reporting lead to promote tools adoption and a strong data culture across the company, through relevant frameworks, processes, and training.

Your experience, skills and knowledge

Essential 

 

  1. Experience working with BI reporting tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI).
  2. SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases as well as familiarity with a variety of databases.
  3. Data warehousing experience (knowledge of and experience with Kimball Dimensional, Data Vault and other related DW methodologies).   
  4. Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  5. Engineering best practices and standards.

Desirable

 

  1. Experience with data warehouse software (e.g. Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift).
  2. Experience building and optimising pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
  3. Working knowledge of data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, BigQuery).
  4. Code versioning (Github integration and automation).  
  5. Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R.
  6. Working knowledge of message queuing and stream processing.
  7. Experience with Apache Spark or Similar Technologies.
  8. Experience with Agile and Scrum Technologies.
  9. Familiarity with dbt and Airflow is an advantage.
  10. Experience working in a start-up or scale up environment.
  11. Experience working in the fields of financial technology, traditional financial services, or blockchain/cryptocurrency.
  12. Data Management and governance experience.
