As a Data Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management , you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a data engineering team, you execute data solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

 

Job responsibilities

  1. Enhance data protection controls to ensure the security and integrity of enterprise data.
  2. Customize and configure tools to meet specific business or customer requirements, while providing guidance to peers on similar tasks
  3. Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases with minimal supervision
  4. Utilize SQL extensively and maintain proficiency in NoSQL databases, understanding their unique roles within the industry.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes.
  6. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  2. Basic knowledge of the data lifecycle and data management functions
  3. Advanced at SQL (e.g., joins and aggregations)
  4. Working understanding of NoSQL databases
  5. Demonstrated ability in statistical data analysis, selecting appropriate tools and identifying relevant data patterns for comprehensive analysis.
  6. Experience implementing custom changes in tools to produce tailored data products.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Knowledge of Data Mesh, data modeling, and domain-driven design
  2. Familiarity with ETL tools, including Spark and Databricks.
