As a Data Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management , you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a data engineering team, you execute data solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Enhance data protection controls to ensure the security and integrity of enterprise data.
- Customize and configure tools to meet specific business or customer requirements, while providing guidance to peers on similar tasks
- Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases with minimal supervision
- Utilize SQL extensively and maintain proficiency in NoSQL databases, understanding their unique roles within the industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Basic knowledge of the data lifecycle and data management functions
- Advanced at SQL (e.g., joins and aggregations)
- Working understanding of NoSQL databases
- Demonstrated ability in statistical data analysis, selecting appropriate tools and identifying relevant data patterns for comprehensive analysis.
- Experience implementing custom changes in tools to produce tailored data products.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of Data Mesh, data modeling, and domain-driven design
- Familiarity with ETL tools, including Spark and Databricks.
