Job Description
Summary
As our Event Marketing Manager, you'll be directly responsible for the conception, experience, messaging, and marketing execution of Blockwork's portfolio of events (including but not limited to our Digital Asset Summit and Permissionless brands). You'll work hand-in-hand with the rest of our passionate events teams to help design, promote, support, and grow events that range from hackathons to premier institutional conferences.
Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:
- Build and Own Event Marketing Strategies: You'll leverage your expertise to build and execute a portfolio of event marketing strategies, measuring success and using data to help improve effectiveness.
- Oversee Event Marketing Operations: You'll get your hands dirty in the creation and delivery of all messaging and marketing communications across email, social, podcasts, and other channels.
- Event Design & Messaging: You'll collaborate with the rest of the Events team to strategize the event's brand architecture, design, and positioning before turning your attention to making it a reality.
- Design and Execute Event PR Strategy: You'll drive our event PR strategy, including press invitations, securing media engagements, ecosystem and community engagement, and other new ideas.
- Collaborate with Sales: You'll work with the Sales team to help design and iterate materials and messaging that showcase the experience of the events and how they stand out from the competition.
- Collaborate with Across Blockworks: You'll work cross-functionally with other teams, including Podcasts, Editorial, and Research, to amplify our event marketing strategy to its full potential.
- Own and Drive Event Goals: Work closely with the Finance and Events teams to establish event goals, then proactively own the performance and regularly report on our progress against those goals.
- Own Roundtable Event Marketing Strategies: Work closely with our Account Management team to drive registrants and attendees to our weekly hosted sponsored Roundtable (aka Webinar) events.
Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.
What You’ve Done Before:
You have a history of several years of designing, executing, and promoting exceptionally engaging, authentic, and well-performing events. You have a deep background in the events industry and know how to navigate everything from attendee segmentation to sponsorship management successfully. You have successfully designed and executed media strategies across your previous events, and you are excited to share some of your best examples. You have enough crypto knowledge to speak the language and incorporate crypto-native elements into marketing, paired with a genuine desire to learn more about the industry.
You have an exceptional eye for detail and are always looking for opportunities to add polish to the overall event experience. You're relentlessly focused on the customer (whether it's the sponsors, attendees, or guest speakers) and always keep experience and engagement at the forefront. You can project manage your way out of anything and love helping others on plan.
It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:
Experience in crypto, finance, or startup industries will move you to the top of the list. Having significant event marketing success with unique tactics and creative approaches will also set you apart from other candidates. If you have deep experience in event public relations and community development, we'd love to hear about that, too. Lastly, we'd love to have someone with the demonstrated ability to analyze post-event results and continuously improve strategies based on the outcomes.

This is a full time exempt position with an expected salary of $125,000/year.
