As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Neovest, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
2. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in a microservices architecture environment
3. Proficient in coding in Java (Java 8+) or similar object-oriented programming language
4. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
5. Knowledge and experience developing code that utilizes SQL (MS SQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases 
6. Familiarity and hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies (React/Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5)
7. Experience using the Spring Framework
8. Experience deploying and running applications in both a containerized environment (GKE, AKS) and on Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
9. Overall knowledge of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle and Scrum
10. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
11. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Exposure to cloud technologies (GCP, Azure, AWS)
2. Experience developing in the Swift programming language
3. Experience using distributed data cache and message bus solutions (Hazelcast, Redis, Kafka)
4. Exposure and experience with Apace web server and Tomcat appliation server
5. General understanding and working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Ansible, Harness)
6. Hands-on experienced using an IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, VSCode, Xcode)
7. Experience working with Atlassian productivity products (BitBucket, Jira, Confluence)
