Summary
Data is the lifeblood of modern business, particularly for digital-only organisations where all user actions can be tracked. Immutable needs a world-class data capability to make better or faster decisions.
The Head of Data will create this capability as a service for the business through hiring, training, education, outsourcing, and technology-building. We have a modern data infrastructure with no legacy data issues and solve interesting and new data problems in blockchain and economy design. You will play a pivotal role in empowering our Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to harness the power of data for strategic decision-making.
Your team's expertise will drive our studio and platform to success as you quantitatively investigate user interactions, evaluate feature effectiveness, and deliver insightful recommendations.

- Set the technical standard for our data team across analytics and engineering.

- Constantly improving standards, processes, and techniques to make better and faster decisions at Immutable.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing, to ensure that data analysis and recommendations align with the overall business strategy and objectives.
- Build a team capable of developing and implementing predictive models to forecast user behaviour, inform product development, and drive targeted marketing efforts.
- Present visualisations and generate reports that effectively communicate insights and findings to stakeholders, helping inform organisational decision-making.
We'd Love You To Bring 🤝
- Bachelor or Master in a quantitative field (e.g. Engineering, Maths, Statistics, Science, Econometrics).
- 2+ years managing a team with 8+ years of industry technical experience.
- Experience with Python, SQL + cloud-based data stack (GCP, AWS Azure etc.) + BI tools.
- Management experience in small or medium-sized growth tech companies.
- Experience hiring/growing/building a world-class team.
- Solid grasp of standard statistical methods and applications (A/B testing, time series analysis, forecasting and regression).
- Strong statistical background
- The ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration.
- Great understanding of data privacy regulation.
- Product analytics experience (ideally new tech or eCommerce).
- Growth analytics experience ( i.e B2C, paid marketing, attribution, mixed media modelling).
- Experience supporting 7 figure user acquisition budgets and achieving profitability.
- Expertise in event instrumentation.
- Experience working with leadership to define and measure KPIs and other operating metrics.

- Game or Product marketing expertise.
- Web 3 knowledge or interest.
- A/B testing and experimentation.
- Monetisation design experience.
- Experience with an ML framework (e.g. PyTorch, tensor flow, sci-kit-learn)Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with Looker.
A bit about the team:
This role will be part of the Immutable group data function. This team is responsible for sharing knowledge, monitoring performance and progress of products, identifying valuable insights, facilitating collaboration across global teams, promoting best practices, and democratising data by empowering people to use it.
