Summary

Duration: Full-time; Location: Remote (from UTC-5 to UTC+3), Preferred: Europe 

We are looking for a proactive, forward-thinking and hands-on Head of Finance with a proven background in strategizing and executing web3 financials on a global scale to join our team at the WalletConnect Foundation. 

You will be responsible for designing and managing the financial, legal and operational functions of the foundation’s corporate group in alignment with its mission and objectives. You will manage/oversee investments, prepare financial reports, and manage relationships with key financial service providers.

About the Team:

You will partner with the Founder of WalletConnect, Pedro, our Executive Director and other directors of the foundation The WalletConnect Foundation is remote first and highly distributed, with English as our primary language for communication. We are looking for self-starters that are excited about working in a fast paced startup environment. 

Day to Day:

1. Develop and execute a financial strategy & reporting for the foundation’s corporate group and related legal entities in alignment with the group’s overall mission and objectives.
2. Manage investments, asset management, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes including structured products.
3. Develop and manage internal controls to safeguard assets.
4. Manage the preparation and presentation of quarterly financial reports and statements.
5. Establish and maintain accounts with key financial service providers like banks, custodians, and trading desks.
6. Manage/prioritize outsourced accounting service providers + relations with external financial advisors like accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
7. Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards in relevant jurisdictions.
8. Track and ensure the receipt or delivery of all investments, payments, ecosystem grants and team-member grants.
9. Understand and manage financial aspects unique to on-chain activities, including multisignature transactions.
10. Designing and executing a plan to scale the foundation’s operations.
11. Implement first ERP; design flow and create integrations between all foundation technologies and financial connections

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
2. Experience professionally executing financials + budgeted for a decentralized product, DAO, exchange, wallet, token, etc. company or project
3. Ideally practiced within more strictly regulated regions: North America, Europe, Asia
4. Treasury Management experience in options, trading, etc.
5. Tokenomics/Token management 
6. Strategizing and managing Grants Programs (giving/receiving)
7. Strong familiarity with IFRS accounting standards and specific accounting rules for cryptocurrencies.
8. Familiarity with GAAP accounting standards.
9. Experience collaborating with external global accounting firms 
10. Experience managing legal for companies in the web3 space
11. Proficient understanding of blockchain technology and its financial applications.
12. Experience working with other web3 foundations

2. Familiar with Cayman Island practices
