Offering deep liquidity for tighter spreads, we deliver a private and personalized service for institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals executing large orders. Our OTC desk ensures discreet, secure, and ultra-competitive execution and settlement services.

We’ve established ourselves as a dominant OTC desk for spot trading, built an options desk to service institutional clients, and recently launched structured products. Now, we’re on the hunt for a new Junior Trader who is curious and passionate about advancing the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency and the technology behind it. That’s where you come in!

As the Jr Trader, you’ll primarily work with our OTC spot team to interface with clients and handle the operational aspects of settlement. You’ll also gain exposure to the borrowing and lending desks, assisting with those operations as needed.

Reporting to a Director, this individual contributor role offers a fantastic opportunity for a driven and eager learner to shape the future of crypto from a leading position at a top-tier brand.

The opportunity

1. Manage the full lifecycle of cryptocurrency and FX trades.
2. Handle OTC trading flow for both new and existing counterparties.
3. Document OTC trades, execute orders, hedge risk, and reconcile positions and P&L.
4. Settle fiat and crypto positions and perform essential ad-hoc tasks.
5. Rebalance crypto and FX exposure across various trading venues.
6. Engage with clients and connect them to the OTC desk.
7. Identify and capture trading opportunities; execute trades within defined parameters.
8. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, accounting, settlement) to ensure accurate settlement of transactions.
9. Work with Kraken traders and cryptocurrency researchers to enhance market knowledge and expertise.

Skills you should HODL

1. 1 to 3 years of experience in OTC or electronic trading within the financial services and/or crypto space, with strong product knowledge.
2. A passion for the crypto world—you’re familiar with the latest trends, exciting coins, and have a strong learning attitude toward new industry developments.
3. Experience in trade execution, strong understanding of electronic trading systems, covering front-to-back processes.
4. A collaborative and learning mindset—you’re eager to learn from your peers and thrive in a team environment
5. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional clients.
6. Believe wholeheartedly in the crypto, cypherpunk, libertarian values of Kraken described in our Tentaclements document.
7. Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics or related degree
8. This is a remote position based in the APAC region. You must be willing to work APAC hours and weekends as needed.
