Job Description

Summary

Robinhood is looking for a dynamic Corporate Development leader to accelerate Robinhood’s strategic roadmap by identifying, vetting, and executing mergers, acquisitions, and a variety of other potential transactions. You will develop a detailed understanding of Robinhood’s strategic objectives and market landscape, working to identify high-potential acquisition opportunities across existing and future market verticals and geographies. You will help build out Robinhood’s network and develop relationships that may lead to acquisitions or strategic investments in the future. You will work closely with deal sponsors and cross-functional leaders across Robinhood on all aspects of M&A, including business case construction, valuation analysis, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and deal execution. You will present acquisition opportunities to company leadership, facilitate key acquisition decisions, and provide post-acquisition performance updates. The ideal candidate is strategic, relationship-oriented, analytical, creative, and results-oriented.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  1. Analyzing Robinhood’s strategic landscape, gathering competitive industry intelligence, developing the business case & rationale for key M&A opportunities, and advocating for them internally
  2. Autonomously managing transactions from end-to-end, including sourcing, negotiating, diligencing, closing, and facilitating a seamless integration process.
  3. Leading deal evaluation meetings, driving decision-making, and negotiating deals with objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness.
  4. Cultivating external relationships that provide the opportunity for potential future acquisitions or investments
  5. Cultivating internal relationships and developing influence with leadership and key cross-functional partners
  6. Building scalable processes and best practices for Robinhood’s Corporate Development functions

Some things we consider critical for this role:

  1. At least 7 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate development at a technology company
  2. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be resourceful, and operate effectively with high autonomy in dynamic/uncertain environments and complex deal processes
  3. A tendency to reason from first-principles, using data and analysis to draw conclusions
  4. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including financial and company valuation analyses
  5. Familiarity with the fintech landscape
  6. Track record of complex problem solving, attention to detail, and ability to develop strong working relationships and deliver results cross-functionally
  7. Excellent project management skills, demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and related tasks, and ability to coordinate complex multi-stakeholder projects
  8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with the executive-level audience (e.g., founders, leadership team, Board of Directors)
