Our Platform organization’s purpose is to enable Gemini to scale effectively and empower our engineering teams to focus on building innovative financial products and experiences for individuals around the world. Platform focuses around building a scalable and secure foundations platform, enabling Engineering to deploy, validate, and operate their services in production, improve resiliency of the service and increase organizational efficiency by reducing operational toil and increase system efficiency through architectural evolution.

The Client Platform team provides a horizontal function that supports and maintains core client development for web and mobile, providing the GraphQL service, testing infrastructure, frontend CI/CD pipeline development, maintaining the Hubble Design System and providing standards for future client development. The team’s mission is to be the force multiplier for other client teams so that they can deliver with quality and speed.

The Role:

You will be a core part of leading Gemini’s mobile client development practices, both by contributing to and adopting modern tooling for the mobile client from both a client architecture and CI process standpoint, working cross-functionally across Gemini’s engineering teams to influence and shape our development practices and culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Drive architectural decisions that will advance the mobile app to a modern development stack.
2. Establish and automate the enforcement of best practices in mobile development and code quality.
3. Lead the initiatives to architect solutions to improve the performance of the mobile application.
4. Monitor app performance and identify and debug performance related issues using observability tooling.
5. Collaborate and lead on scoping, planning and executing on cross-functional projects that benefit the client application
6. Implement solutions that further the improvement of developer experience with app architecture that scales and is reliable.
7. Work closely with relevant stakeholders for the mobile client to execute on architectural rollout strategies.
8. Play a key role in technical evaluation of potential tools, libraries and vendor contracts.
9. Ensure that the mobile app adheres to security standards and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 10+ years in mobile development and 5+ years in React Native development.
2. Proficient in Swift/Objective-C and/or Java/Kotlin for native mobile platforms.
3. Experience implementing navigation libraries and strategies.
4. Demonstrable experience in debugging and improving React Native performance.
5. Experience in completing large scale migrations and refactoring of a codebase.
6. Familiarity with CI processes like Github Actions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of crypto and/or blockchain.
2. Experience in implementing shared codebases between web and mobile.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this role is between $198,000 - $247,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
