As a Python Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, Databases team you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You will be developing and maintaining the control plane that delivers database products on our internal cloud platform.

Job responsibilities

1. Understand/apply reusable code design, develop solutions that are highly reliable and scalable.
2. Conduct code reviews and ensure quality solutions are built and tested.
3. Employ Agile development practices; Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, etc.
4. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
5. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. 
6. Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
2. Highly proficient in Object Oriented programming languages.
3. Expertise (Certification desired) in cloud/container development.
4. Experience implementing software architectures such as Event-Driven / Microservices 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Experience developing in Web UI frameworks such as REACT or Angular.
2. Proficiency with database technologies – MongoDB preferred.
3. Proficiency with REST API design and development (Django preferred)
