Summary

We are seeking a highly strategic and proactive Sales Planning and Strategy Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and owning the annual planning cycle, which includes the generation of new Sales Initiatives, OKRs, Compensation Plans, Budgets, and Sales Targets. The ideal candidate will act as a program manager for the overall planning schedule, bringing a unique perspective and informed opinions to shape strategies and decisions.

In this role, responsibilities include: 

  1. Annual Planning Cycle Management: Own and manage the sales planning to ensure readiness for the new sales year. This involves strategic oversight and operational management of sales initiatives, compensation plans, and sales targets
  2. Sales Compensation Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of sales compensation, with the ability to evaluate different compensation approaches, particularly for sellers, technical SAs, and customer success teams
  3. Cross-functional Leadership: Maintain credibility with Sales Operations leaders, ensuring that any changes to processes, policies, tools, and systems are fully integrated across all Sales Operations functions and successfully implemented
  4. Decision Making: Act as a key decision-maker and implementer of sales coverage changes between planning cycles, including the management of sales plans, deal splits, SPIFs, and other mid-year programs to adjust sales strategies and programs as needed

We’re looking for candidates who have: 

  1. 7-10 years experience in sales planning, strategy, and operations 
  2. Strong understanding of sales compensation mechanisms and their impact on sales performance
  3. Demonstrated track record of working with and earning the trust and confidence of executives and leaders at high-growth tech companies
  4. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a track record of managing complex planning cycles
  5. Detailed oriented, systematic thinker, and thoughtful executor
  6. Ability to identify and act upon an opportunity or problem without explicit instruction
  7. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels
  8. Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing priorities and challenges

Nice to have experience:

  1. Start-up / Scale-up Mentality - this role will require rolling up your sleeves
  2. Experience with Data Analysis Tools along with Salesforce & Compensation tooling
