Summary

Sorare is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic Payment & Safety team, which is pivotal in driving payment experience and providing a safe and fair experience for all our customers.

You'll collaborate closely with a cross-functional team including Finance and Legal, where you’ll engage directly with payment workflows, revenue stream monitoring and optimisation. You’ll also work with our Player Experience Specialist team to ensure we use the best-in-class safety mechanisms and keep our game and marketplace safe and fair. Your involvement will be crucial in shaping and refining those initiatives.

In this role, you will have significant input into the direction of our payment & safety projects. You’ll participate in weekly meetings to discuss and set the roadmap and priorities, bringing your technical expertise to the forefront to develop scalable and efficient full-stack solutions that support our ambitious revenue objectives.

Additionally, you will be deeply involved in discussions with our providers and partners, either from the Web3 ecosystem and traditional payment ecosystem, to imagine new ways of implementing innovative solutions to buy and sell cards in both currencies we support (ether and fiat). Your attention to details, your analytical skills, your ability to adapt quickly will be key as you help design, implement, and maintain the whole payment stack, contributing directly to the core of Sorare marketplace.

No prior experience with sports, games, or crypto is necessary. Responsibilities

1.  Collaborate with product, design, and finance to develop and refine payment-related features, and continuously detect and block bad behaviors and fraud.
2. Lead projects from specifications to completion across mainly backend and possibly frontend.
3. Engage with providers and partners from both Web3 and traditional payment ecosystems to implement innovative solutions for transactions in ether and fiat.
4. Enhance customer payment experience, ensuring optimal usability, safety, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements

1. Require 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in Ruby On Rails.
2. Experience working on payment solutions or financial services is a plus.
3. Open to learning new technologies and methodologies.
4. Detail-oriented, ensuring top quality from backend logic to frontend user interfaces.
5. Thrive in a dynamic team environment, tackling complex problems related to payment solutions and fraud patterns.
6. Participate in experimentations to optimize growth tactics and measure their impact.
7. Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effective cross-functional collaboration.
