We manage liquidity, capital, and risk while providing robust financial controls and reporting functions to support executive decision-making. The finance transformation team plays a crucial role in aligning with the finance organization's mission and objectives. We are dedicated to developing innovative and agile financial processes, promoting greater flexibility, resilience, and operational effectiveness. By fostering a holistic vision and collaborative program development, we strive to execute impactful transformational initiatives and seamlessly integrate new products and processes.

The Finance Transformation team is seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a track record of working on finance transformation projects. The role requires adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and process driven environment while effectively engaging with stakeholders across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding industry and contribute to the building of the new financial system.

The opportunity

  1. Assess current state operating models and develop ideal target states by partnering with product, data, engineering, and other teams across Kraken
  2. Collaborate within the finance systems workgroup to automate existing processes across general ledger teams (treasury, accounting, FP&A, and others)
  3. Develop business process flows to evaluate gaps and areas for improvement 
  4. Support process transformation, including technological and systems integrations and development 
  5. Support building project plans and assist in governing and managing the cross functional finance program roadmap
  6. Develop comprehensive understanding of the needs of finance, data, and key stakeholders to inform product specifications and requirements
  7. Develop comprehensive understanding of the risks and implement adequate controls to mitigate those risks 
  8. Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Skills you should HODL

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
  2. Deep expertise in finance operations, management reporting, and regulatory reporting
  3. Demonstrated experience with leading the development of project plans & project management
  4. Working knowledge of project and work-stream management tools such as Airtable, Confluence, Jira
  5. Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  6. Experience with writing business requirements and technical documents

Nice to haves

  1. Experience in fintech or banking industry is preferred
  2. Experience with crypto currencies and knowledge of blockchain technology is preferred
  3. PMP certification
