Summary

As the Senior Financial Accountant at Quidax, your role is pivotal to the organization’s financial health and strategic growth. You will serve as a financial leader, ensuring that our financial systems and processes are robust, compliant, and scalable. Working closely with the CFO, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations while implementing strategies to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.

You’ll also play a critical role in building and leading a high-performing finance team, acting as a mentor and ensuring the team aligns with Quidax’s growth objectives. From preparing consolidated financial reports to overseeing cryptocurrency accounting and compliance, your work will directly impact Quidax’s success in the dynamic world of fintech and cryptocurrency.

What your day-to-day looks like

  1. Prepare and consolidate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) with accuracy and timeliness.

  2. Develop and maintain internal financial reporting processes, controls, and compliance with global accounting standards (e.g. IFRS or GAAP).

  3. Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with leadership.

  4. Ensure proper accounting treatment for cryptocurrency transactions, including valuation, custody, and taxation.

  5. Support due diligence processes for potential investments or partnerships.

  6. Create and implement financial strategies to improve profitability and manage financial risk.

  7. Stay updated on cryptocurrency regulations and accounting trends to ensure organizational compliance.

  8. Perform ad-hoc analysis and other related duties as assigned.

Job requirements

What you need to have

  1. 6 - 8 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the cryptocurrency, fintech, or technology sectors.

  2. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

  3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  4. Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and managing audits.

  5. Knowledge of financial operations of exchanges or digital wallets.

  6. A strong understanding of taxation, treasury management, and compliance within the fintech or crypto space.

  7. Proven people management experience, with a track record of leading and scaling high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

  8. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial software/tools.

  9. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholders.

Must Haves

  1. Proven experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.
  2. Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or US GAAP).
  3. Demonstrated ability to build and scale finance teams in a growing organization.
  4. A track record of improving financial systems, processes, and controls.

Nice To Haves

  1. Exposure to crypto-specific tools and platforms.
  2. Prior experience working with blockchain or digital asset ecosystems.
  3. Familiarity with financial management tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP.
