Summary
Skills and requirements:
- Strong understanding of game art pipelines.
- Versatility and strong understanding of art styles (should be able to adapt to most styles, whether stylized or realistic).
- Technical understanding and ability to manage a project in a lead capacity, ensuring the completion of assigned tasks with minimal oversight from senior staff.
- Specialization in at least one area, such as organic modeling/sculpting or hard surface modeling, using the latest tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in unwrapping and texturing (both modern and traditional texturing processes).
- For environment artists: ability to create environments, work with lighting and shaders in game engines, and have a strong understanding of game level design.
- Versatility in production tasks: flexible enough to work on varying aspects of production based on project needs, e.g., characters, environments, etc.
- Versatility with tools: open to learning new tools based on project requirements.
- Ability to assist developers with art integration in-engine.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strict adherence to quality standards and conduct as evaluated by directors.
- For animators: expertise in custom rigging, knowledge of game engines, and advanced animation pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Communication and ability to understand the high level requirements from clients and key stakeholders.
- Communicate with the Concept Lead/Art Director to understand the Artistic vision of the project.
- Communicate direction and comprehensive feedback to the artists and teams.
- Manage/tasking the team of artists (external and OS) with multiple projects.
- Working with Producers/Directors/PMs/Leads to manage and schedule the deadlines and ensure the quality production.
- Managing the Art assets i.e. tracking iterations and updating the lists of updated set of assets.
- Mentor and train artists to help them grow.
