Summary
We are looking to hire a senior professional to join Robinhood as a Senior Government Affairs Associate and focus on relationships with Democratic policymakers. Reporting to our VP, Global Government & External Affairs, this role will drive federal advocacy on behalf of Robinhood and advance our priority policy issues - described in more detail on Robinhood’s policy site here. This role is ideal for someone who is highly adaptable, who can drive impact in a fast paced environment. What you’ll do
- Advocate for relevant policy issues and develop relationships with Democratic policymakers in U.S. Congress
- Lead engagements with industry associations, ensuring their agenda supports Robinhood’s policy goals
- Apply your political and policy expertise to identify opportunities that advance Robinhood’s policy priorities
- Equip key internal business partners with a clear and timely understanding of sophisticated legislative and regulatory policies
- Lead the strategy of and prepare Robinhood executives for engagements with relevant government stakeholders
What you bring
- 8+ years of experience working in the U.S. Congress and/or Executive Branch, including experience working with relevant committees and agencies
- Substantial experience working for a member of Congress or a Congressional committee
- Familiarity with financial services companies and ability to communicate sophisticated financial services policy, with a track record of advancing interests in these areas
- Existing relationships and positive rapport with relevant government stakeholders and industry groups
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills; extraordinary ability to communicate information effectively internally and externally and to drive cross-functional alignment and action
- An execution oriented attitude with the drive and creativity to get things done
- Experience in-house at another fintech or private sector company, with broker-dealers, and/or engaging with or working for one or more federal or state financial services regulators is a plus!
- Eagerness to learn about new and emerging technologies
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
