Summary

The Notifications Team is building Roblox's next generation notifications platform to allow our teams and developers to easily build respectful and helpful notification experiences for our users.

These notifications include Push, In-App/In-Experience, Messages, Email, and SMS - basically any way a user is contacted both on-platform and off-platform. The mission of our team is to connect the right user, to the right content, at the right time. Whether it's a new update from a user's favorite experience, or a friend invitation to co-play, we make sure that the notifications that are being delivered are what the user wants to see, and when they should receive it.

We are also building what we call our Core Pipeline, making sure that we can deliver notifications of all types to our users. Soon we'll add more functionality such as scheduling and ranking (using ML models) to make sure that the right users are getting the right notifications and using advanced AI for personalized notifications and to combat spam!

You Will:

1. Contribute to the backend development for our Notifications team
2. Build functionality to grow millions of users through our delivery channels, ensuring that our platform is scalable and providing the best possible user experience.
3. report to the Engineering Manager on the Notifications Team

You Have:

1. 6+ years of software development experience
2. Experience in compiled languages such as C# or Java
3. Experience with API design patterns, server-side architecture/design
4. Provided mentorship to other engineers
5. Led large technically complex projects
6. Cross team collaboration on projects and collaborated between product managers and engineering
7. Participated in system design review groups such as an Architectural review committee
8. Full Stack experience with stronger preference on the backend
9. Familiarity with A/B Testing (Bonus)
10. Experience with notifications such as Mobile Push Notifications, Web Notifications, Email or SMS notifications (Bonus)
11. Experience in machine learning (Bonus)
12. Experience in Android / iOS development (Bonus)
13. Experience working with big data, data pipelines, and data analytics (Bonus)

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
