The Team

Join our Custody team and have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing transformation of the digital assets industry at Kraken. Our team plays a crucial role in identifying problems in the industry and delivering novel solutions. As an engineer on the Custody team, you will have the chance to collaborate with highly skilled Rust Engineers, cryptographers, hardware aficionados, and on-chain experts from around the world. We are enthusiastic about the highest security custody environments and efficiency of signing with the major cryptographic curves. Our collaborative work environment allows us to stay ahead in the ever-changing crypto landscape

The opportunity

  1. Design and implement robust Rust services and libraries
  2. Write reusable, testable, and highly efficient code
  3. Collaborate on large scale distributed systems architecture
  4. Work side by side with hundreds of experienced Rust engineers

Skills you should HODL

  1. 7+ years of software engineering experience 
  2. Proficiency in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust
  3. Have a security-first mindset during system design to ensure robustness
  4. Demonstrate the ability to autonomously debug issues across the stack (OS, network, application)
  5. Apply a solid understanding of distributed systems and technologies, including RPC protocols, Kafka, and Event-Driven Systems, to design scalable solutions
  6. Collaborate effectively with product teams to gather requirements and constraints for designing appropriate systems
  7. Take complete end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries
  8. Provide mentorship to other engineers while contributing to defining the technical culture
  9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
