Summary

Limit Break is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to establish and maintain the VFX style and production process for our upcoming game. In this role, you will work closely with various cross-departmental teams to achieve visual fidelity whilst adhering to the technical and design constraints required for the desired platform.

This position is an opportunity to build a team and execute a vision for building a new VFX style and authoring pipeline.

Job details

  1. Work closely with art directors and concept art to drive the production of high quality VFX simulations, textures and materials.
  2. Establishing processes, standards, documentation and training
  3. Ensuring that VFX art assets are constructed to a high technical standard and efficiency.
  4. Assign and manage tasks across internal and external teams.
  5. Work with the production to organize, schedule and manage the day to day activities of the VFX team.
  6. Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Art to build and improve the VFX art pipeline.
  7. Troubleshooting various DCC tool and in-game issues

Qualifications

  1. A passion for iterative design and peer-to-peer culture.
  2. 5-7 years of professional VFX experience and team leadership experience
  3. Excellent understanding of timing, motion and volume retention
  4. Mastery of the latest asset generation techniques in industry standard DCC tools (Maya/Houdini, Photoshop, etc.).
  5. A strong understanding of performance budgets and other technical requirements for building optimized content.
  6. Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Experience managing and collaborating with teams working remotely.
  8. Extensive experience working with other departments, artists, designers, and programmers.

Experience working with the latest game engines such as Unreal, Unity, and proprietary technologies.

  1. Experience profiling and optimizing art assets for memory and performance.
  2. A broad interest in real-time rendering techniques and art asset creation tools.
  3. Experience with procedural content creation
