Summary

Circle is looking for a Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Circle. As a backend engineer, you will play a meaningful role in developing various services for our wallet infrastructure and maintaining the underlying code. 

What you'll work on:  

1. Builds services, APIs, and SDKs which align with data protection standards and aid in the implementation of protection controls for other developers
2. Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes
3. Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
4. Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future
5. Conduct whitebox tests and optimize performance
6. Participate in conferences and educational programs
7. Follow new and emerging technologies and provide support to other team members

What you’ll bring to Circle: 

1. 0-2+ years of professional software development experience in languages like Go, Java, Python or JavaScript
2. Computer Science degree or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
3. A broad understanding of API design and REST principles, know how to derive and communicate a good design.
4. Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc)
5. Experience with SQL databases and designing schemas
6. Willing and able to learn unfamiliar languages and technologies
7. Experience in the deployment of production-quality, scalable software
8. A focus on coding standards and code quality with speed -- a desire to have great test coverage to enable continuous delivery
9. Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas and present concepts effectively
10. Self-starter with a curious mindset, you enjoy moving at a fast pace, shipping software that improves the user experience and constantly improving your work with little supervision
