As a UI Developer Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Payments Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  2. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  3. Proven hands on experience in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and in Java Script framework React.
  4. Hands-on experience in coding highly scalable, resilient UI micro services on JavaScript framework React.
  5. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  6. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  8. Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Experience in Java Enterprise, Spring Framework, Web Services, Micro Services (REST), Hibernate
  2. Experience of RDBMS (Oracle) or Cassandra
  3. Exposure to Cloud Technologies e.g. Kubernetes, EKS. Exposure to messaging queue e.g Kafka
  4. Past experience with the Financial Services industry
