Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of “Consumer and Community Banking- Digital Technology Group” to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  1. Design, analyze, develop, test, debug, and model the system components necessary to produce potentially shippable product iterations with each sprint.
  2. Deliver high quality code that complies with standards and satisfies architectural tests.
  3. Perform pair programming and assist the team in supporting the application in all required environments.
  4. Provide estimates for user stories utilizing planning poker.
  5. Participate in product backlog prioritization, story mapping, and story splitting activities.
  6. Prepare and lead sprint review meetings showcasing completed product backlog items to the product owner and subject matter experts.
  7. Proactively look to develop and implement best practices across the entire project team, practicing continuous process improvement.
  8. Collaborate face to face and virtually with the Product Owner, Operations and Technology partners around the world.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  2. Hands-on programming/application development experience utilizing JAVA/J2EE,Spring Boot, REST, Micro Services, Kafka, Cassandra, Cloud Native, AWS, Agile, DevOps and TDD.
  3. Experience on Core JAVA ( w/ Java 11 Features )skills having deep experience in OOAD, Threads & Concurrency and Collection
  4. Experience in various design patterns 
  5. Hands on experience in Kafka & Cassandra
  6. Experience utilizing standalone Spring Framework integration
  7. Strong object oriented analysis and design skills (OOAD)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  1. Strong written and oral communication.
  2. Experience working in Agile teams, ability to focus and grasp business concepts explained during PBRs.
  3. Good SQL/PL-SQL Skills (Oracle 12c Preferred) and Hibernate/JPA
  4. Proven ability to collaborate with global teams
