As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
5. Provide estimates for user stories utilizing planning poker.
6. Participate in product backlog prioritization, story mapping, and story splitting activities. 
7. Prepare and lead sprint review meetings showcasing completed product backlog items to the product owner and subject matter experts. 
8. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
9. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
2. Experienced in Java and Spring Boot including standalone Spring Framework integration 
3. Strong knowledge in Core Java (Java 11+), Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Micro Services, Agile, DevOps
4. Deep experience in object oriented analysis and design (OOAD)
5. Good SQL/PL-SQL Skills and Hibernate/JPA
6. Passionate about testing strategy, problem solving, learning new skills, sharing expertise and knowledge
7. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
8. Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
9. Strong written and oral communication and excellent presentation and influencing skills
10. Proven ability to collaborate with global agile teams
