The Growth team drives Kraken’s mission to expand its global user base, focusing on optimizing the entire user journey - from first impressions to retention. The Onboarding team operates at the intersection of engineering, product, and design, collaborating closely with product managers and designers to craft experiences that align with Kraken’s growth objectives. Your team’s impact will extend beyond engineering, supporting Kraken’s mission by lowering barriers to entry, increasing conversion rates, and enabling a frictionless path for users across the globe. The opportunity

1. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web & mobile applications using React Native
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering, to deliver high-impact features and improvements
3. Significantly influence technical decisions, contribute to technical strategy discussions, and shape product/domain decisions with an expert understanding of engineering best practices
4. Mentor junior and senior engineers and provide constructive feedback
5. Master multiple technologies and stay ahead of the curve with new tools and trends
6. Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant systems, with a deep understanding of complex software development architecture and design patterns
7. Lead and collaborate on complex initiatives, and drive feedback and growth across teams
8. Drive process improvements and lead by example with advanced experience in multiple software development processes

Skills you should HODL

1. 6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web and mobile applications
2. Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and proficiency with React Native frameworks 
3. Strong experience of API design, security, and performance optimization
4. Experience with Next.js and WebSockets
5. Experience with frontend testing frameworks
6. Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tooling
7. Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices and principles
8. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to haves

1. Familiarity with native mobile app development (iOS/Android)
2. Knowledge of the cryptocurrency industry and blockchain technology
