Summary

Responsibilities

1. Negotiating contracts relating to digital asset custody, consulting services, partnerships, non-disclosure, trading and lending, staking and/or escrow.    
2. Drafting and negotiating bespoke contracts for first-of-their kind products and services with limited precedent.      
3. Drafting terms of use and disclaimers.  
4. Working closely and partnering with the product, regulatory, sales, trust company, compliance, product development and marketing teams.          
5. Helping with due diligence requests related to transactions.  
6. Managing legal and regulatory risks in a thoughtful and commercially practicable manner.  
7. Helping develop and drive legal contracting process and operations including with respect to workflows, customer contracting lifecycle, pipeline management and document retention.    
8. Supporting corporate governance.  
9. Escalating issues to senior team members as appropriate.    
10. Pitching in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above.

Skills and Experience

1. 2-6 years of related law firm and/or in-house legal experience at a financial services or crypto company, ideally involving customer-facing sales, fintech and/or custody. Must have at least 2 years of transactions experience at a large law firm.  
2. A strong understanding of how service levels, warranties, limitations of liability and indemnities are used in contracts, and how they are used to allocate risks associated with a business arrangement.  
3. An understanding of intellectual property licensing, digital asset reviews, escrow arrangements and/or fintech businesses.
4. Ability to draft complex legal clauses and manage transactions with sophisticated institutional counterparties and outside law firms.     
5. Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.      
6. Interest in blockchain and digital assets.    

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $200,000- $220,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined above are also a part of this role's package.
