Summary

Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional to join our Global GL Operations Accounting team and play a key role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence. The Staff Accountant, GL Operations must possess strong accounting and operational expertise, an ability to communicate and work with various teams inside of Finance (such as Tax, FP&A, and Accounts Payable), and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high-growth technology company.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in all areas of the company’s operational accounting. This position will directly own capitalization of internally developed software, ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals through collaboration with various teams across the organization, and assist with intercompany transactions and settlements. This role requires someone with impeccable attention to detail, a financial and analytic mindset, and a strong desire to develop their accounting career at a rapidly growing organization.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

1. Support various areas of the company’s operational accounting, recording daily journals and creating supporting schedules.
2. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
3. Cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Source-To-Pay teams to ensure proper accounting and financial reporting.
4. Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
5. Prepare supporting documentation for external audits, including non-US subsidiary statutory financial statements.
6. Perform analytical reviews over financial data to to identify trends / issues
7. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to operationalize new areas of the business to facilitate streamlined accounting transactions as assigned
8. Participate in critical accounting projects, including the implementation of new system logics or enhancements.
9. Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
10. Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

1. Minimum of 3 years working in public accounting or in the fintech/financial services industries preferred 
2. BA/BS in Accounting or related field / CPA preferred
3. Knowledge and experience with US GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plus
4. Knowledge and experience with SOX and control documentation
5. Possess excellent analytical skills (MS Excel), business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills
6. Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
8. Strong work ethic and team player
9. Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast and G-Suite

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range:

$108,630—$127,800 USD
