THE WORK:

RippleX supports and contributes to the XRP Ledger, the world’s fastest, most sustainable, and consistently reliable blockchain — it's been carbon neutral for over two years! Our focus is on empowering others to leverage the XRPL to solve their challenges, whether that’s through building user-friendly libraries dapp-based money transfers, contributing specifications for emerging needs like AMMs and NFTs, building a toolkit for custom "sidechain" networks, or democratizing blockchain infrastructure. Our mission: simplify access to instant decentralized payments by offering infrastructure, tools, and developer support for XRPL innovation.

We are seeking a staff data engineer who match our beliefs in the power of this technology. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Lead designing and implementing scalable data ingestion systems for various analytics, ML/AI solutions, and both internal and external customer facing data-centric features, which includes ingestion of structured and unstructured data, on-chain and off-chain data
2. Analyze complex data flows and dependencies, and design and implement data models for optimal storage and retrieval processes
3. Design and lead the implementation of the orchestration layer of complex data transformations, refining and optimizing processes
4. Develop observability systems and proactive/automated exception handling to supervise ingestion and ETL processes and maintain data quality and freshness
5. Be a key driver in researching and evaluating new/additional software tools and integrations to assist platform-level database maintenance and development
6. Strong ownership and communication skills, be able to support and align efforts to meet data user needs, and coach other engineers on best practices for operating reliable systems and analyzing issue root causes

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

1. 8+ years of experience in Python and 6+ years of experience with SQL
2. 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, with demonstrated capability in using data APIs for ingestion, distributed computing technologies (e.g Spark), ETLs, query performance optimization, and application of modern SDLC methods to data pipeline development and data warehousing
3. At least Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
4. Strong problem solving and analytical skills (performance analysis, defect analysis, and reporting)
5. Strong written and communication skills; ability to convey innovative ideas clearly and effectively
6. Organized and meticulous
7. Worked with Databricks platform a huge plus
8. Experience with AWS, DBX or related technologies
9. Worked with decentralized technologies and know how to index blockchain data a plus
