Summary

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will be a vital member of our technology organization, working closely with individual contributors and senior leadership. You'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing new systems and components while mentoring and guiding other software engineers. We're seeking individuals passionate about driving major architectural changes to elevate customer satisfaction in Appen.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of mission-critical systems, ensuring their scalability and reliability.
• Develop highly scalable platforms using React, TypeScript, Java, Spring, Redis, Kafka, AWS, and Elasticsearch.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level software engineers, fostering their professional growth.
• Contribute significantly to agile and scrum practices, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead technical projects across teams and departments, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, driving innovation within the Appen.

Qualifications:

• 10 to 14 years of experience developing web applications with expertise in TypeScript, React, and JavaScript.
• Deep understanding of client-side frameworks and API-first applications.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; master's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies, A/B testing, and continuous delivery.
• Ability to translate UI/UX designs into prototypes with exceptional user interactions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Expertise in client-side performance optimization and modern coding practices.
• Strong professional experience on complex, large-scale projects with high user and transaction volumes
• Exposure to popular frontend libraries and frameworks.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of backend technologies such as Java, Spring, and API-first applications.
• Familiarity with RDBMS systems like MySQL/PostgreSQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with Containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD solutions.
• Previous leadership experience in solving complex system problems and managing global.
