Summary

As a Network Platform Engineer, you will be focused on developing, and maintaining Gemini’s Network Infrastructure which includes cloud services and on-premise facilities (datacenters and offices). You will be working closely with peers on the Platform, Security, and Development teams, as well as business stakeholders to build a highly scalable and resilient network infrastructure for always on availability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and support AWS multi-VPC, multi-region cloud network infrastructure
  2. Evaluate and implement new network infrastructure and topologies
  3. Utilize automation (Terraform/Terragrunt/Ansible) to improve productivity, workflow, and technology deployment
  4. Continually drive improvements in network performance to support various business services
  5. Troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues, find and improve performance bottlenecks
  6. Participate in the team's on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience with large-scale multi-VPC AWS Network Architecture and integration (Terraform, Ansible, etc)
  2. Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, BGP, HSRP, VRFs, IGMP, OSPF, BGP, etc)
  3. Experience with network security concepts and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and access controls
  4. Experience with designing and implementing network architectures using Amazon Transit Gateway to manage direct connect networks and inter-region routing
  5. Good understanding of network design principles, including segmentation, load balancing, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
  6. Experience with ANF, ALBs, NLBs, Global Accelerator, AWS WAF and Shield for Ingress traffic control from the Internet
  7. Experience in zero trust environments
  8. Experience with IaC concepts and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Pulumi for provisioning and managing infrastructure resources
  9. Knowledge of Network Management and Analytical tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, DataDog, Grafana, flow logs, cloudwatch, etc
  10. Experience with Kubernetes and Service Mesh technologies, Istio, Envoy, Linkerd, etc
  11. Experience with Linux, performance, interfaces, routing, and firewalls
  12. Understanding of all aspects of TCP/IP networking, troubleshooting, and analysis
  13. Strong collaboration skills for effective communication with cross-functional teams, including developers, Platform Engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders
  14. Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Robust experience in a fast-paced financial services or financial trading environment or Large-Scale Web presence company
  2. Multi Cloud Knowledge (eg. AWS, GCP)

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this role is between $152,000 - $190,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
