Summary

As a Software Engineer within Investigations, you’ll join a team of other engineers and share the responsibility of providing the right tools for the right data in order to build best in class customer experiences for our customers. You'll have opportunity to lead, build and maintain new customer facing web frontend features as well as the services backing them. Part of this responsibility is also to learn and understand the underlying data platform in order to partner with product managers and designers to deliver impactful solutions to our customers.

In this role, you will:

1. Build cloud-native data ingest and aggregation processes that intake gigabytes of data per day
2. Add features to our product suite that detect activities for market manipulation, fraud, behavioral patterning, and more 
3. Build a scalable API service on AWS that handles up to 1000 requests per second
4. Help the team to modernize our stack to a streaming architecture
5. Debug production issues across multiple systems and microservices

We are looking for candidates who have:

1. Led or played an instrumental role in designing and implementing cloud-native microservices-based distributed systems in a major cloud provider like AWS or GCP
2. Experience mentoring other engineers, leading cross-team projects, and driving design and technology decisions
3. A bias to ship and iterate alongside product management and design partners
4. Experience with object-oriented programming languages; we mostly use Java but appreciate a variety of languages! 
5. A strong technical background with 8+ years of experience working directly on backend systems/ projects
6. A sense of great pride from materializing product ideas through production

Nice to have experience:

1. Exposure to or interest in the cryptocurrency technology ecosystem
2. Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes is a plus!
