We’re looking to bring onboard Staff Engineers who will work on and lead a team of engineers to execute high-impact, cross-team projects. Staff Engineers at Chainalysis are familiar with our complete technology stack and understand the dependencies across engineering teams. They are leaders who are instrumental in our design and architectural decisions and mentors to other engineers on the team sharing their expertise in our technology stack and the latest technologies.

In this role, you’ll:

1. You have successfully built cloud-native data ingest and aggregation processes that intake gigabytes of data per day
2. You’ve added features to our product suite that detect activities for market manipulation, fraud, behavioral patterning, and more 
3. You have built a scalable API service on AWS that handles 1,000’s requests per second
4. You have helped the team to modernize our stack to operated at 10x current load
5. You have debugged production issues across multiple systems and microservices

We’re looking for candidates who have:

1. You’ve led or played an instrumental role in designing and implementing cloud-native microservices-based distributed systems in a major cloud provider like AWS or GCP
2. Experience mentoring other engineers, leading cross-team projects, and driving design and technology decisions
3. You have a bias to ship and iterate alongside product management and design partners
4. Experience with object-oriented programming languages. We mostly use Java but appreciate a variety of languages! 
5. Strong technical background with 8+ years of experience working directly on backend systems/ projects
6. You take great pride in materializing product ideas through production
7. Exposure to or interest in the cryptocurrency technology ecosystem
8. Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes is a plus!
