BitGo is looking for a Staff Software Engineer for our Staking team. We're building robust and scalable systems to integrate new and existing blockchains, enabling secure custody and staking of funds totaling billions of dollars. This role is primarily remote, we ask that those within reasonable commuting distance of the office join us on Wednesdays. 

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

1. Leads or significantly contributes to large, multi-person initiatives spanning engineering teams.
2. Provides comprehensive technical leadership across various domains and initiatives.
3. Sets and drives the long-term technical vision for the team.
4. Recognized for delivering high-quality and quantity of hands-on technical contributions.
5. Offers top-tier feedback on technical designs, enhancing both own and other teams' work.
6. Plays a key role in defining strategic direction, roadmap planning, and ensuring team success.

Engineering Responsibilities:

1. Designs and constructs scalable, well-abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services for integrating blockchains and staking functionality into custody platforms.
2. Takes ownership of functionality and scalability features from research through to deployment.
3. Develops integration libraries and SDKs for seamless interaction with servers and APIs.
4. Documents and exposes functionality to UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
5. Collaborates closely with engineering teams and product managers to ensure unified understanding of technical requirements and consistent work quality.

Mentorship and Collaboration:

1. Provides mentorship to peers across the broader engineering team, fostering growth through code reviews and best practice education.

Skills & Experience:

Required

1. At least 8 years of back-end, server-side software development.
2. Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.JS and / or Kotlin.
3. Great with unit and functional testing and debugging.
4. Great at providing simple and extensible abstractions to complex systems.
5. Experience in Git/GitHub and branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, etc.
6. Bachelors degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university.
7. Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
8. Great at algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
9. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

1. Understanding of and experience working in the blockchain and / or security industry.
2. Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
3. Ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React and Databases (MongoDB).
4. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
5. Have real world experience building distributed systems that scale.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $185,000 - $235,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined above are also a part of this role's package.
