About the team + role
The Financial Crimes Surveillance team at Robinhood monitors customer behavior to ensure we meet our requirements under firm policy, BSA, FinCEN guidance, SEC rules, and FINRA regulations.
As a Surveillance Senior Associate, you will be on a team responsible for performing trade surveillance investigations, which may result in the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). This includes reviewing alerts to identify potential market manipulation and suspicious activity, performing ad hoc investigations from internal and external partners, as well as surveillance tuning and testing.
It is preferred that this role is located in one of the office locations listed on this job description which will align with our in-office working environment. This position is only eligible for remote work in limited geographies within the US where we do not have physical office locations. What you’ll do
- Perform trade surveillance investigations for cases of suspicious activity or potential market manipulation (e.g., Insider Trading, Wash Trading, Spoofing, Ramping, etc.)
- Develop and support a recommendation for trade surveillance investigations which could result in a SAR filing
- Perform ad hoc investigations from both internal and external partners
- Collaborate with team members to test and tune existing and new trade surveillance controls
- Participate in cross-functional, ad hoc projects related to trade surveillance process and program improvement
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2+ years working in Trade Surveillance / Market Surveillance for a broker-dealer or FinTech, or in a consulting capacity for a financial institution with experience working in equities and options
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt to a changing environment
- Experience with Eventus Trade Surveillance (Validus) and Actimize (ActOne) case management
