Course Content

10 Modules – Certificate of Competition

Introduction to the Course

In the first module of the course, the students will get an introduction to blockchain security and what they will learn.

Blockchain Basics

The second module of this course covers the basics of blockchain. As a beginner in the industry, this module helps with fundamental concepts that will help you understand blockchain. The module starts with an overview of blockchain technology, then focuses on public and private blockchains, and finally gives a walkthrough of blockchain forks.

Blockchain Consensus Mechanism

The third module of this course is about consensus mechanisms. It mainly focuses on the fundamentals of consensus algorithms and important concepts related to blockchain consensus security. Finally, it ends with some other blockchain consensus that every blockchain security professional must know about.

Cybersecurity Threats and Incidents on Blockchain Network

The fourth module of this training program gives an overview of the possible cyber security threats, some of the most frequent cyber security threats, and some easy ways to address these threats. Apart from this, this module also helps in understanding different types of cyber issues that can take place. Finally, the module ends by mentioning some real-life incidents where cybersecurity threats were reported.

Different Security Mechanisms

The fifth module of this course mentions different security mechanisms that are important for blockchain business. The module starts with explaining basic security mechanisms and then goes on to address some advanced cryptographic encryption. This is especially important as cryptographic encryption is now used by most of the big tech companies for the safekeeping of data. Finally, the module ends by mentioning some other security mechanisms that can be helpful for auditors and security professionals working with blockchain.

Blockchain Risk Assessments

The sixth module of the course gives an overview of risks related to blockchain. For business owners, people working with blockchain, or people thinking of investing in blockchain, this module will be very useful. The module also covers possible blockchain-related risk considerations, some security ecosystems used within blockchain security, and blockchain architectural design. Understanding the architectural design will especially help with minimizing loopholes that can be exploited by attackers later.

Two-Factor Authentication with Blockchain

The seventh module of this course focuses on two-factor authentication with blockchain. Since two-factor authentication is becoming more common, the module starts by defining 2FA, looking at its importance, the way it is helpful, and how to implement it. Finally, the module also explores how 2FA is working for blockchain for 2FA.

Vulnerabilities & Attacks

The eighth module of this course gives an overview of the vulnerabilities & attacks that can take place in blockchain. The module starts by defining vulnerabilities & attacks, the way they can be detected, and a way to minimize the chance of it. Moreover, it looks at different vulnerabilities & attacks related to consensus mechanisms, mining pools, network issues, and even smart contract vulnerabilities & attacks.

Alternative DLT Architecture

The ninth module of this course focuses mainly on the alternative DLT architecture. It looks at the issues in the current architecture, points out different ways to detect the loopholes in then offers alternatives that solve all the issues and vulnerabilities of the current DLT architecture.

Certified Blockchain Security Professional Exam

The last module of this course is a 100-mark exam. This exam mainly consists of multiple-choice questions and requires 60+ marks to pass the test. The student is expected to clear the exam within three attempts; however, if the student fails the test after exhausting three attempts, the student can seek assistance from the blockchain council.

Description

The Certified Blockchain Security Professional or CBSP Certification is designed for everyone. The course mainly touches on the fundamentals of blockchain security, however, it isn’t just limited to security but also covers other issues and threats related to security. The students will get hands-on experience with every step. Apart from the exercises, there are dedicated theory-based sections and some case studies that can help the student learn about real-time issues faced by blockchain companies.

By the end of this course, the students will be able to learn more about blockchain’s inherent security features, its associated risks, best security practices for blockchain infrastructure, typical cyber-attacks, and ways to differentiate between blockchain cyber-attacks and threats. Apart from this, students will also get familiar with ways to mitigate blockchain security risks and some of the common ways big blockchain companies are strengthening their networks.
