Course Content
10 Modules – Certificate of Completion
The first module of this course offers a general overview of prompt engineering. The students will get a detailed introduction to prompt engineering, why it is so important, some of its applications, and how it can help the students. Since the module covers the basics, it will also help the students get familiar with the core of prompt engineers and know where they can get to use it in future job roles.
The second module of this course goes into detail as it explores different types of prompts. The students will learn more about prompts, the different types of prompts, what a good prompt looks like, what makes a prompt better, and even the basic components of building a solid prompt. They will also get an in-depth understanding of prompt context, the problems with prompts, and some of the common challenges that are linked with using and building prompts.
The third module of this course focuses on the principles of effective prompt engineering. The students will get familiar with eliciting the desired response, what makes it important, and how to commit to it. The module also covers some other topics and common questions related to eliciting desired responses, like clarity and specificity in prompts, dealing with ambiguity, and handling sensitive topics and content safeguards. Moreover, the students will also get to know more about the importance of context in prompt design, some of the best prompt strategies for better output, and even some useful prompt templates as well.
The fourth module of this course helps the students to know more about creating a good prompt. The module starts with a case study that mainly focuses on prompt engineering, along with some simple examples. The students will then get a step-by-step process of creating prompts and learn more about prompt engineering for text summarization. Apart from this, the module also covers task-specific prompt engineering, i.e., information extraction, question answering, text classification, code generation, and reasoning. Finally, the module ends with some easy ways to analyze and evaluate prompt performance.
The fifth module of this course focuses on different ways to work with OpenAI API. The module starts with an overview of OpenAI API and then looks at different ways ChatGPT can be used and leveraged. The students will learn more about setting up ChatGPt and integrating some setup ChatGPT add-ons as well. Apart from the basics, the students will learn how to use ChatGPT in Google Docs and Google Sheets. Finally, there is a section dedicated to different data generation tricks for ChatGPT in Google Sheets that the students can eventually use to improve productivity at their jobs.
The sixth module of this course takes the knowledge of the students to an advanced level by looking at some of the innovative engineering techniques and prompts. The module starts by exploring some ways to harness the power of system messages and instructions features in ChatGPT and then looks at ways to deal with biases in prompt responses and mitigate inappropriate or unwanted responses. Moreover, the students will also get to know more about different engineering prompts for multilingual and multicultural contexts and ways to build iterative and interactive prompt chains.
The seventh module of this course looks at the future of prompt engineering and AI conversations so the students can get to know more about its scope in the years to come. The module starts by explaining the evolution and trends in AI conversational models and then dives into some innovations and opportunities in prompt engineering. Finally, the module ends by mentioning some challenges and ethical considerations in prompt engineering that every user must keep in mind.
The eighth module of this course mainly focuses on some of the most popular AI tools that we see today. Within this module, the students will get to use Bard and Claude. The module doesn’t just cover the basics of these popular tools and their features but also helps the students to understand the difference between both and work with these tools to improve overall progress.
The ninth module of this course is just a recommendation section to help the students make the most out of this learning program. As per the recommendation in this section, the students are expected to complete the course in six days while dedicating at least one hour each day. This will help the students make the most out of the course and easily exercise each step as well.
The last module of this course is a 100-mark exam. The student needs to clear this exam with at least 60+ marks to earn the certificate. To clear the test, the students get three attempts. However, in case the course participant fails to pass the test after exhausting all three attempts there is an option to get assistance as well.
